Sohu.com, Inc. (Sōuhú, German: Suchfuchs) is a Chinese Internet company based in Beijing. It was founded in 1996 by Charles Zhang (Zhang Chaoyang), who is Chairman and CEO to this day. Sohu operates one of the most popular Internet portals in the People's Republic of China. With its subsidiaries, Sohu is active in the areas of advertising on the Internet, operation of the Sogou.com search engine, development and distribution of multiplayer online games (ChangYou.com), operation of the video hosting portal Sohu TV and more. In 2008 Sohu was the Official Internet Content Service Sponsor (developer, operator and hoster of the official website) of the Beijing Olympic Games. Sohu has been listed on the stock exchange since 2000. In 2010, the company had sales of 612.8 million euros. In 2013, Tencent acquired a minority stake in the Sohu subsidiary Sogou.com, which operates the search engine of the same name, for US $ 450 million.

Sohu employed around 10,600 people in 2015 and had sales of the equivalent of 852 million US dollars in 2011.
