The Soke of Peterborough is an area in England that has traditionally been associated with the city of Peterborough but was part of Northamptonshire county .

When the county councils were established in 1888, Soke of Peterborough became a separate county. In 1965 it was merged with the small neighboring county of Huntingdonshire to form a more serviceable administrative unit. In 1974 the area was assigned to the county of Cambridgeshire .

Today the area - roughly within its historical boundaries - forms a Unitary Authority , see City of Peterborough .
