Solar Quest

Solar Quest is a British one-man ambient and acid trance music project by George Fleming-Saunders (* December 25th in Redlands, Scotland , born Seòras Saunders).

The artist name Solar Quest is derived from the fact that he uses solar energy to feed his musical instruments and sound systems during his performances and when producing.

Life

George Fleming-Saunders was born as Seòras Saunders (Seòras is the Scottish Gaelic form of George) in Redlands, Scotland and grew up in Stirlingshire . His mother is Irish from the Birch family on the Isle of Man and comes from Eniskerry near Dublin . His father was a Scot and came from Flemish Gypsies .

Fleming-Saunders now lives in London .

Career

Fleming Saunders began his career under the pseudonym Solar Quest in 1993 when he started in the early nineties for acid house to care. From 1993 and 1994 Fleming-Saunders released nine singles or maxis and two albums . However, he released an album from this period called Sonic Bloom Entropica Prolifica under his alternative stage name Entropica .

For the annual Glastonbury Festival , Fleming-Saunders has often set up its own festival tents, the installations of which are powered by solar energy. He has also recorded and mixed many of his works in a recording studio that is powered by solar energy. As a musical instrument he uses, among others, an analog synthesizer type Roland TB-303 . His music has been released mainly by the labels Choci's Chewns (1993-1995), SSR Records (1993-1995) and Entropica (since 1998).

Fleming-Saunders alternative pseudonyms are: BenKei and Entropica . Variations and alternative spellings of the stage name Solar Quest are The Solar Question Mark? , The Solar Question Mark! , Ed Solar Quest , Solaquest , Solarquest and SolarQuest .
