The Can Verd solar power plant is located in the municipality of Manacor on the Balearic island of Mallorca .

Can Verd has been supplying electricity to the public grid since May 30, 2008 and was officially inaugurated on June 3. It was the second plant on the island after the Port Vell solar power plant in Son Servera .

The system with 9,560 solar modules, which is built on a total area of around 60,000 m², produces around 2.1 megawatts peak (MW p ). The plant was financed by local investors who, attracted by the state-guaranteed remuneration of 45 cents per kilowatt-hour so far, bought shares. The system was built by the Mallorcan company Generació Fotovoltaica SL. The facility is fenced and monitored around the clock by motion detectors and cameras.
