The Krughütte solar park , near the town of Eisleben , covers an area of around 100 hectares . With a peak output of 29.1 MW , an annual average of around 7500 four-person households can be supplied with electrical energy . The solar park at the former Krughütte, later Karl-Liebknecht-Hütte , was built in cooperation between the companies Parabel AG and SRU Solar AG. In addition to the difference in height of 80 m to 100 m, the construction of the open space system was also made more difficult by hard, brittle slag in the subsoil.
More than 121,000 photovoltaic modules are installed on the solar field . About 1400 decentralized solar inverters are responsible for converting direct current into alternating current .
