Braunau-Haselbach military cemetery
The Braunau-Haselbach military cemetery is located in Haselbach in the municipality of Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria .
history
The cemetery was established in 1914/1915 together with the Austro-Hungarian refugee camp Braunau am Inn , which housed more than 20,000 prisoners from Russia , Serbia and Italy . Around 1,500 war dead were buried here between 1915 and 1918. In addition, there are 56 victims of the Second World War - women and men from the Soviet Union - who died as slave labor between 1941 and 1945 .
The Austrian Black Cross War Graves Commission in cooperation with the city of Braunau am Inn is responsible for maintaining the cemetery .
In 2007 and 2008, the cemetery was devastated as a result of the hurricanes Kyrill and Emma as well as the storm Paula .
