The Soldiers' Equality Act (SGleiG) is a German federal law . It comes into force against discrimination against women in the Bundeswehr, as well as on gender equality officers and women in charge of equality, and makes provisions on the compatibility of family and service in the Bundeswehr . To prevent and eliminate disadvantages for other reasons, e.g. B. of homosexual soldiers , the Soldiers' Equal Treatment Act was passed two years after this law .
content
The law came into force two years before the General Equal Treatment Act. It serves to ensure the equality of soldiers in the Bundeswehr and to eliminate existing and prevent future discrimination based on gender. Soldiers, especially those with superiors and leadership roles, are obliged to promote equality between women and men in their area of responsibility. Recruitment advertisements and post announcements for the armed forces must appeal to both women and men. If women are underrepresented in individual areas, they should be given priority in career advancement with the same qualifications. The agencies must enable soldiers with family responsibilities to participate in a suitable manner, unless there are business reasons to the contrary. They have to offer working hours and other framework conditions that make it easier for soldiers to combine family and service in the Bundeswehr, as long as there are important business reasons. Part-time employment and family-related leave of absence are to be made possible for soldiers.
An equality plan is drawn up for four years by the departments in which an equality officer is to be elected. The equality plan is an instrument for personnel planning, in particular for personnel development, and for the equality of soldiers.
