Soloist (potato)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Solist is an extremely early potato variety from Norika (Nordring Kartoffelzucht- und Vermehrungs GmbH). Compared to standard early potato varieties, the growing season is shortened by 8 to 10 days.

Soloist is predominantly waxy (cooking type B). There is little discoloration after cooking. The variety has a pronounced dormancy, but forms tall perennials in a rapid youth development. The variety was approved by the Bundessortenamt in 1999.

At around 130 kg nitrogen per hectare, the nitrogen requirement is in the middle range.
