Solitaire (cryptography)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Solitaire , named after the card game Solitaire , is an encryption algorithm that was developed by Bruce Schneier .

This symmetrical algorithm uses a deck of 52 cards plus two jokers to generate the key. The special feature should be that the algorithm is relatively safe, but can still be used "by hand" (without a computer or other technical calculation aids). Shortly after the publication, a weak point in the algorithm was found and published.
