The Solowjow D-25W ( Russian Соловьёв Д-25 ) is a Russian helicopter engine from 1960, which was designed by Pavel Solowjow , chief designer at Aviadwigatel in Perm .

The W means Wertoljot (Вертолёт), Russian for helicopter. The starting power of the shaft engine is 5,500 hp (4,045 kW). Two engines each with a reduction gear were used as the drive system in the Mil Mi-6 and Mi-10 .

In the Mi-10K , improved D-25WF engines with an output of 6,500 WPS (4,781 kW) each were used later .
