Somewhere in My Memory (also known as Theme from Home Alone ) is the theme song for the film Kevin - Alone at Home (1990) and was composed by John Williams . The text is by Leslie Bricusse .

The song is played for the first time in the opening credits of the film. During the course of the film, the song is picked up several times, parts of the melody can also be found in the songs The House and The Finale . There is also a recapitulation of 1:04 with choir and organ in the film and on the soundtrack. The text of the song is sung by an unknown children's choir.
For the film sequel Kevin - Alone in New York (1992) Williams picked up the song. Bette Midler also sang a version. In the sequel Ana Belen also sang a Spanish version called Sombras De Otros Tiempos , which was also released on the original soundtrack album.
Academy Awards
The song was nominated for an Oscar for Best Movie Song at the 1991 Academy Awards. Stephen Sondheim finally won this for Sooner or Later (I Always Get My Man) from Dick Tracy .
