The building is a special school that was completed in 1904. A residential building and a set-back adjoining main building are connected to the street, with a large playground in front of it to the east . All buildings are two-story and end with beaver-tailed mansard hipped roofs .
The building is a characteristic school building from around 1900 in a historicizing design typical of the time it was built and a richly picturesque grouping of structures. It is worth preserving for architectural, historical and urban planning reasons.
