The Sonmiani Flight Test Range is a launch site for sounding rockets in Pakistan .

The site today covers around 200 hectares and is located around 40 kilometers northwest of Karachi in the Lasbela district , Balochistan Province , and is operated by the Pakistani Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The center was designed and built by NASA . The systems were put into operation on June 7, 1962 with the launch of a Nike Cajun sounding rocket .
