Sun height

As solar elevation is elevation angle of the sun above the horizon of the observer designated; in particular the maximum height of the sun at noon (12 noon, true solar time ), the measurement of which is the simplest method of determining the geographical latitude of the location. In nautical science , it is called lunch cutlery .

The height of the sun at any time of day can be calculated from the astronomical triangle using the time, date and position of the observer.
