Sophia Phokaina

Sophia Phokaina was probably the mother of Empress Theophanu , wife Otto II . Sophia comes from the ancient Byzantine noble family of the Phocas . Her father was the Kuropalates Leon Phokas. She was married to Konstantinos Skleros, brother-in-law of the Byzantine emperor Johannes I. Tzimiskes .
