So Kantruem
So kantruem ( Thai ซอ กัน ต รึ ม ), even so kantrum, saw kantruem, sor kantrum is a two-string coated tube spit loud that of the Khmer in the Northeast of Thailand , in the south of that region Isan is played.
The fiddle consists of a tubular wooden body and has two metal strings that are tuned with long pegs at the back. The top of the body is covered with snakeskin. The strings run at a distance over a 60 centimeter long wooden stick. The Khmer names of the three different sizes are: tro-chi (small), tro-ek (medium) and tro-thom (large).
The so kantrum is played in an ensemble , mostly as an accompaniment to folk dances at festivals and in ritual performances.
