The dry-ground shrew ( Sorex ugyunak ) is a species from the genus of the red -toothed shrew . It is closely related to the American red-toothed shrew . Like these, it is part of the Arctic fauna . Their distribution ranges from northern Alaska to northern Canada and the west coast of the Hudson Bay . Unlike the American red-toothed shrew, their habitat is the tundra, in which willows and birches only reach a small height.
The body length of the dry-ground shrew, including the tail, is between 75 and 105 millimeters. Their weight is only between 3.0 and 5.5 grams.
