Sothys Paris is one of the world's leading manufacturers of cosmetic products in the professional cosmetics industry. The products are sold in over 120 countries worldwide. The company's head office is at 128 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré , Paris.

history

In 1946 the company was founded by the doctor and biologist Dr. Hotz founded. He was one of the first to produce active ingredient concentrates in glass ampoules that managed without preservatives and were therefore particularly skin-friendly and efficient. The products were sold through his beauty salon, which at that time was already located in the Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris.

For his products he chose the name of the Egyptian goddess Sothys. Sothys goes back to the star Sirius (Greek spelling Sothis ), who was worshiped as a deity in ancient Egypt and was a symbol of fertility.

Today the goddess Sothys is emblazoned as a brand logo on the products for face and body care, which are manufactured by the company Sothys International. In 1966 the Mas family took over the company and expanded the business internationally. Today the SOTHYS brand is represented in 15,000 cosmetic institutes and beauty farms in over 120 countries around the world. Only cosmetic institutes and beauty farms are supplied.

In Germany, the products are sold by the company Euro-Kosmetik GmbH in Cologne.

In 2007, the Sothys garden Les Jardins Sothys was opened in Auriac (Corrèze) . The 3.7 hectare botanical garden with several areas is used to research the regional flora as a supplier of cosmetic active ingredients. Among other things, the patented Boletus Extract 1055 was developed here. For the first time in the world, the properties of boletus , a type of porcini mushroom, are used in cosmetics.

In addition to the basic research carried out in collaboration with the University of Limoges , the Sothys Garden is open to the public as an oasis of calm. In the grounds of the botanical garden there is an exclusive restaurant that uses the herbs, wildflowers and spices grown in the garden in the kitchen. Regional products are sold in the affiliated boutique.

In addition to the company headquarters, Sothys Paris head office has other locations (as of July 2008):

Furthermore, Sothys is sold in over 120 countries around the world, partly through sales partners and also through subsidiaries. In Germany, the products are sold through the 100% subsidiary Euro-Kosmetik GmbH.
