Soufrière is a village on the southwest coast of the island state of Dominica . With 1,416 inhabitants, it is the largest town in the Parish Saint Mark .
geography
The place is located in an old volcanic crater, which is bordered by the slopes of the Soufrière Ridge . The crater is open to the sea and forms Soufrière Bay . The small side domes of Morne Patates and Morne Crabier rise south of the village . The Soufrière Sulfur Springs ( Grand Soufrière ) rises east of the village .
The townscape is determined by the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Mark .
