Soufriere Sulfur Springs

Soufrière Sulfur Springs with the source Grand Soufrière is a thermal spring in the Parish Saint Mark in the island state Dominica .

Dominica is of volcanic origin overall, so there is still slight volcanism in many places . There are several thermal and sulfur springs in the Soufrière crater . The place got its name from there. Soufrière Sulfur Springs is developed as a tourist attraction and has an information center, several bathing areas, changing rooms, etc. The springs themselves are on the slope east of Soufrière, on the ascent to Tête Morne . There are three areas: The Lower Deposits , the Lower Cone and the Upper Cone in a geothermal area with sulfur deposits , hot springs, sulfur crystals and fumaroles . Two streams have their source in the area and flow into the sea at Soufrière: the Glo Cho and the Glo Gayak . The two streams differ greatly in their chemical composition.
