Soumyajit Ghosh (born May 10, 1993 in Shiliguri ) is an Indian table tennis player . He took part in the Olympic Games twice. The Indian uses a butterfly blade and uses the Tenergy 05 on the forehand and backhand .
Career
In 2010 he made his first international appearance, at that time he won bronze in mixed doubles at the youth world championships. In 2011 he won bronze again at the same tournament with the team.
With the team he also reached first place at the Asian Youth Championships. In 2013 he beat top player Achanta Sharath Kamal at the national championships of India . In the U21 class, he won gold at the Brazil Open that same year. In 2014 the Indian played in the Commonwealth Games , where he failed in singles and doubles in the quarterfinals, but won bronze with the team.
In 2015 he was allowed to participate in the World Championships, where he reached the round of 64. Before that, he beat Quadri Aruna . In 2016 he qualified for the Olympic Games , where he had to throw in the towel early on.

Personal
Ghosh comes from a middle-class family. His father Hari worked for the local community society and his mother Mina Ghosh is a housewife . He is the only child of his parents and was recognized as the best Indian table tennis player in November 2016.
