This is a list of the episodes of the anime television series Sound of the Sky ( Sora no Woto ). It should give an overview of the consequences and their action.

The place almost falls from the Kanata, but is held by Rio. The Spanish city of Cuenca served as a real model .

| Beginning in a flashback, the very young Kanata Sorami ( 空 深 彼方 , Sorami Kanata ), who was left alone during the war, is shown sitting desperately in the ruins of a house. She notices a younger soldier playing the trumpet and is very impressed by her. In the present, Kanata has also become a soldier, although her real motive is learning to play the trumpet. So one day she is relocated to Seize , a smaller town in a remote, mountainous area. There she is supposed to report to her future supervisor Rio Kazumiya ( 和 宮 梨 旺 , Kazumiya Rio ), but involuntarily, or through her aimless wandering, gets entangled in a ceremony in which the citizens douse themselves with colored water. Ultimately, she is found there completely soaked by Rio, who helps her to have a bath and clean clothes. During a conversation on the balcony of the house, where Rio tells her about the legend behind the tradition of the festival, Kanata is stolen by an owl a small bell with a pendant, which Rio has given her for closer inspection upon request. Kanata realizes that this was a gift from Rio's father and is accordingly motivated to get it back, even though Rio tried to downplay the symbolic value of the bell. So once again she does not go directly to the quarter and follows the sound of the bell. Eventually she finds it on a steep mountain pass, but slips when she reaches for the bell and falls into the depths. Fortunately for her, she ends up in a lake and is able to save herself on the shore. When it got dark, Kanata is on her own and tries to call for help with her trumpet. She is heard by Rio, who in turn answers the call. Asleep from exhaustion, Kanata comes to the next day in the soldiers' quarters, where Rio offers to be her future teacher, as Kanata gives a terrible performance at the morning roll call. | |||||

| During the first common breakfast, Kanata are introduced to the other members of the 1121st platoon . This is the very restrained and mature acting leader Felicia Heidemann ( フィリシア·ハイデマン , Firishia Haideman ), the exhausted falling asleep and taciturn Noël Kannagi ( 寒凪乃絵留 , Kannagi Noeru ) and the slightly hostile Kureha Suminoya ( 墨埜谷暮羽 , Suminoya Kureha ), which she should then guide through the fortification. During the inspection, Kanata discovered that the train's tank was not operational and Kureha complained that the military regularly forgot her train. At nightfall, both Kanata and Noël believe they saw a ghost in the barracks. Somewhat worried about this, Kanta and Kureha are sent to investigate the sighting more closely. While roaming around, Kanata made the determination that the base must be a former school, whereby it also becomes clear that such a school system no longer exists in the present. The ghost finally turns out to be the northern bush owl ( Ptilopsis leucotis ), which Kanata had stolen the bell the day before. It was more by chance that the two succeeded in capturing the owl, which from then on was kept as a pet and named Shuko . | |||||

| When the rest of the troop drive into town to get supplies, Kanata and Rio spend the afternoon practicing music. Kanata collapses unexpectedly and develops a fever. In this situation, Rio is immediately reminded of her mother, who was also seriously ill before her death. Due to a lack of medication, Rio asks the nun Yumina ( ユ ミ ナ ) for help, although she has long since renounced her faith and is hostile to both the church and her followers. It turns out that Kanata caught the three-day fever . When Kanata woke up late in the evening after the treatment, Kanata sincerely apologized for her previous misconduct and said that it would only cause them problems. Rio denies this, however, and they come up with a melody that Kanata has been following since childhood. Rio now decides to show Kanata the inner workings of the Takemikazuchi tank , which contains technology from the so-called "old days". He is also able to play the track Amazing Grace as a whole orchestra, which Kanata is deeply impressed. | Kanata is asked to accompany Noël into town to get spare parts for her tank, the Takemikazuchi. They visit the glass blowing workshop belonging to Naomi, where Kanata can be directly enthusiastic about a sculpture of a dolphin made of glass, the real role models of which are now extinct. On their way, they meet Yumina and the orphans, whom they sincerely care for. However, one of the boys, Seiya, finds her presence uncomfortable as his parents were killed by soldiers. So they see themselves forced to leave again quickly and reach a glass blowing workshop that Naomi had suggested to them beforehand. However, there are problems there to produce the spare parts (optical lenses) in the same quality as they could once be produced for ultra-modern war technology. However, the knowledge about it was lost in the long-lasting war that set society back in time. Even in the thought of the boy, Noël in particular overcomes self-reproaches, which can be mediated by Kanata, since it is not the war machines that are good or bad, but those who use them. At the same time, Kanata is busy with her trumpet again, giving a bad performance as usual. However, the workers Carl and Maria give her valuable tips to improve her game. At the same time, Noël becomes aware of Kanata's hearing and lets her check the lenses based on their sound, which turns out to be extremely successful. With the new lenses, they can in fact reactivate the tank's optical control system, which makes Noël smile for the first time in a long time. | |||||

| Under the direction of Rio and Felicia, the three younger soldiers Kanata, Kureha and Noël are supposed to set off as an exercise in the nearby mountains and check some very old reporting stations that are reminiscent of monuments. In doing so, they are forced to carry heavy luggage. While the first station is fairly easy to find, you'll have to climb one of the mountains on the way to the second. As they are not used to carrying such heavy luggage, they soon take a break and Kanata in particular tempts them to bathe in the mountain river instead of sticking to their plan. While they bathe distractedly in the river, Rio and Felicia rob them of their food and compass. So from there they have to go hungry and disoriented. After an agonizing ascent, they still manage to locate the second station. Now Felicia joins them and shows them the signatures of their predecessors on the monument. From this point it is possible to see what is known as the “end of the world”, which is an endless expanse of no longer habitable area. Enthusiastic and touched by this impression, they climb back down the mountain and, under the guidance of Felicia, pass a hot spring where Rio relaxes. Because not only the soldiers had problems climbing. Rio had drawn the wrath of a wild boar on the ascent when she in turn became negligent. | |||||

| Kanata gets her money on time and decides to spend it in town. In reality, the other members of the squad only want to get rid of them to sell illegally produced calvados . However, Naomi informs them quite early that a smaller gang of criminals wants to interfere in the trade. Prepared for this, they play an execution for them during the “broken trade”, which terrifies them. Meanwhile, one of the orphans, Mishio, runs away from Yumina because she is angry with her and doesn't want her hair combed. She meets Kanata and reveals in a conversation that she is looking for a box that was taken from her after her mother passed away. Still on the run, she is on a cliff just above the alleged trade, while she hears the shots, is frightened and almost falls off. At the same time, she triggers a landslide that buries the gangsters' escape vehicle and is saved by Kanata a moment later. After both of them have descended, they want to apologize for the incident out of ignorance, which is actually not necessary. They discover the box from Mishio, which the thieves had stolen from her earlier in the market. Mishio eventually decides to give the box to Yumina as it is a symbol of how much the young nun cares for her. | |||||

| Preparations for the Fiesta des Lumiéres , a traditional festival, are in full swing when Felicia's memories of her lost comrades come back to life. She remembers her unit being badly hit and wandering aimlessly around the war zone with a badly wounded arm. She fell into a deep crack and landed in one of the ruins of the past civilization, where the remains of a soldier lie. Seriously wounded, she creates the illusion that the soldier would still be alive and apologize to her for the war they could not win and the decline of humanity. She is ultimately saved by Princess Iliya, who looks a lot like Rio. After she has been able to process these difficult memories halfway, she and the others decide to let the lanterns float in the river. She also tells Rio the reason why she's still holding on to life. She refers to the happy-looking offspring, especially Kanata, Kureha and Noël. | |||||

| The episode begins with a monologue from Kureha when she makes an entry in her diary. Looking back, she writes about the events of the previous two days when they had a small feast and the young nun Yumina came to visit. Yumina notices how Kureha uses high-proof alcohol to make the grilled meat tastier and, according to her beliefs, gets very upset about how minors could use it. At the same time, Rio, who has just come out of the distillery, is surprised by Kanata, which she can only get rid of with great difficulty. As they sit down at the table, things come to a head when both Yumina and Kanata ask awkward questions that they find difficult to justify. This gives Felicia the idea of brewing a special tea that is heavily alcoholic. After everyone is very tipsy, Felicia recommends a competition between the parties, which should be fought with water pistols. Should Kanata's team win, they would reveal their secret, otherwise they would have to remain silent. In the dispute, Kanata, Yumina and Noël retreat to an abandoned warehouse where Noël had built a modified Gatling bolt-action gun just for just such an occasion. So, even though they were discovered, they can turn the tide quickly and drive the other team into a corner. Felicia, who can take very little alcohol, stages a diversionary maneuver so that Kureha and Rio should get out of the situation safely. However, she is hit by Noël's weapon and both are still stuck while she theatrically stages her death. But Noël ran out of ammunition and Rio managed to hit both Noël and Yumina. All that remains is the fleeing Kanata, who finally enters the distillery, where she duels with Rio in the presence of Kureha. In the duel Kanata prevails and Kureha declares the fight over because everyone is too drunk. So everyone is peacefully together again and Yumina of all people brings the mood back when she gets drunk and it turns into a binge. Only Kureha keeps her cool, as she is obviously much less susceptible to alcohol than the rest of the group. Ultimately, Kanata agreed to keep silence about the distillery and Yumina can't remember what happened in the past few days. Kureha closes her diary entry with the words that she cannot continue writing what has happened afterwards - before she has to vomit herself. | |||||

| The squad asks Kanata to monitor the phone in case of emergency while they go about some other work. She should wait for an incoming call, which is carried out at regular intervals to check its function, which she should not miss under any circumstances. Kanata sees this as an extremely important task in which she literally gets involved. Before Rio also leaves the fortress, she gives Kanata a book about playing the trumpet, signed by Princess Iliya Arkadia. So she spends her time eagerly awaiting the call. A little later she gets a visit from the local priest, who is accompanied by the children Seiya and Mishio. The question arises of how Kanta should react to the call in the first place and so they rehearse the call before Mishio startles the pet, the owl Shuko, and there is a mess. Exactly at this moment, Yumina also comes by, teaching the others and providing Kanata with fresh clothes, as she was showered with drinks. When they have left, the long waiting period begins again for Kanata, making life difficult for herself through her own hysteria. She really has to go to the toilet, but she doesn't dare, otherwise she could miss the call. Almost wetting herself, she waits until she hears Rio's voice in order to get to the bathroom as quickly as possible. Meanwhile the phone rings and the call is answered by the very surprised Rio. | |||||

| One evening, while enjoying their own harvest, Kanata finds Rio's behavior very strange as she doesn't seem to be on the ball. This is also noticed by the other members, who attach little importance to the whole thing. So the evening falls and a typhoon approaches. In the middle of the storm, she visits Klaus to deliver a message to Rio. It becomes evident that Rio has an important role in interaction with the government and the royal family, especially since the negotiations between the two enemies did not get off to a good start. Meanwhile, Klaus is swarmed by Kureha, who thinks he is one of the legendary war heroes. However, he never gets around to revising this statement when suddenly some residents of the village come to her and ask for her help, since the two orphans Seiya and Mishio are missing. With the help of Klaus, they can track down Seiya, who tells them that Mishio is planning to save their own small harvest that they have grown down by the river. In doing so, however, he runs the risk of being swept away by the masses of water that will soon arrive. Kureha and Klaus manage to get the boy out of the danger zone unharmed. But their ascent is blocked by a landslide and sooner or later they both threaten to drown in the rising water. So initially they have no choice but to remain in a ruin. He would like to let her understand that he is not the famous hero she fell in love with. However, in order not to discourage Kureha, he pretends that it is him. Ultimately, however, Kureha finds out that it is not him because he lacks the familiar tattoo. While the two hold out, Noël comes up with the idea of using the tank for the rescue. So they can shoot a rope to the other side of the river, which Klaus can hold on to while at the last moment he catches the almost aborting Kureha. Happy and exhausted, she lets him understand that she still considers him her hero. The next day, when the weather clears up again, Klaus travels before Kureha's Kanata wakes up the teaching that the strong affection for someone makes you blind to see the person. | |||||

| Kureha gets the opportunity to tell Kanata more about Princess Iliya, mentioning the original plan to marry her off to the Roman leader to improve relations. Meanwhile, Yumina pleads that Kanata and Rio look for old Mrs. Jacott, who lives in the mountains. On the way there, Rio Kanata tells about her half-sister, but without specifying exactly who this half-sister is. When they arrive, they help the old woman prepare for the upcoming winter. During the first snowfall, Jacott tells them about her old love, which she had to give up because of the war and is still waiting for her lover to return. During the conversation, she gives in to her own illusion so much that she thinks she sees her returnee outside the window. So suddenly she runs out of the house and disappears into the snow, untraceable for Rio and Kanata. Visibly moved by the fate of the old woman, Rio decides to tell the whole truth about her half-sister. She is the half-sister of Princess Iliya and decides to leave the company in order to steer the diplomatic relations, which Klaus was already talking about in the news, in a different direction. | On their patrol, Kanata and Kureha discover an unconscious Roman soldier and bring her back to the fortress to take care of her frostbite. When she comes to the next day, however, the major language barrier becomes apparent because she cannot understand Helvetian. So you can only hear her name as Aisha. Later Naimi and Yumina join them, informing them that the local army is on their way to their fortress. Meanwhile, Yumina acts as a translator for Aisha, who speaks of the angel fossil that Kanata met underwater in the first episode. When the ninth independent mobile troop, led by Hopkins, arrives, it is Noël in particular who is afraid, as she knows this notorious leader from her past and does not expect a good fate for Aisha. Faced with this situation, Felicia makes a difficult decision and decides to hide Aisha and Noël from him. However, this does not succeed because Aisha betrays herself when she recognizes the witch of Helvetia in Noël. | |||||

| When the soldiers discovered both of them, they open fire, Aisha throwing herself in front of Noël and being hit. At the same time Felicica decides to revolt and with Hopkins as a hostage, whereupon they barricade themselves in the fortress with him and force the army to withdraw. Talking about Hopkins' true intentions, he blatantly admits that he is just waiting to make an example to start the war again because he believes the negotiations are implausible. At the same time, he reveals Noël's true identity, who once worked for him and was responsible for activating an abandoned biological weapons facility. While they are still discussing their situation, Hopkins manages to escape, so that they now have no further basis for negotiation. Meanwhile, Kanata heard the official signal from a distance to end the confrontation. However, they pay no heed to Naomi, who carries the message outside, which also leads to arrests of the angry population, who have great faith in Kanata's hearing. Not knowing what to do next, they decide to activate the Takemikazuchi and go into battle with him against Hopkins and his men, which they can decide for themselves. Badly hit but still functional, they set out to stop the confrontation, in which other troops are also participating. So they go right between the fronts and Kanata tries to give the signal for a ceasefire. However, this is largely ignored and the confrontation is imminent. At that moment, Kanata decides to play the title Amazing Grace and this time delivers a performance that fascinates both sides so much that they pause for a moment before moving towards each other again. This gives Rio, which has meanwhile negotiated a peace treaty, just enough time to place itself with its third troop between the fronts and officially declare the war over.
Some time later, Kanata, Kureha, Noël and Felicia are happy to welcome their new leader Rio. However, this quickly turns out to be different than expected. Because Rio appears in his usual uniform and asks permission to join the troops as a lieutenant. The three younger soldiers pounce on her, unable to hold back for joy. |
