Soussons Common

Soussons Common (also called Soussons Plantation or Ringastan) is located near a road on the edge of the forest near Postbridge in Devon in England . The place in Dartmoor National Park is known for its clapper bridge .

The Soussons Common formation, often incorrectly referred to as a stone circle or cairn, has a diameter of around 6.8 m and is the almost complete border of a worn tumulus from the Bronze Age, consisting of 22 remaining stones . The stones, some of which hardly protrude from the ground, are small. The largest is a little over six feet tall. In the middle is a damaged stone box . The curbs belong to one of the four “Red Barrows” excavated in 1903, which are or were located here oriented north-south.
