Sanja Iveković (born January 6, 1949 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian artist who is best known for her photographs and collages . Iveković is one of the first feminist artists in Croatia.

Life

Sanja Iveković studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. In her work, she examined gender-specific patterns in the mass media, and later she also explicitly turned to political issues. She uses the means of photo montage , video art , performances and installations . In 2009 she was awarded the Camera Austria Prize of the City of Graz. Her works can be found in the collections of the Generali Foundation in Vienna and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein . Iveković lives in Zagreb.
