Soutache

The Soutache is a narrow woven border consisting of wool , silk or cotton may be made and as verzierender stocking items to trimmings on seams used. Sometimes a gold-interwoven flat cord is also called soutache, which is used for embroidery .

Schoytaschierung is the name for the intertwined trimmings on the hussar trousers and on the sleeves of the hussar uniform. The word comes from the Magyar sujtás (pronounced: schuitahsch) for the artistic lacing on the sleeves and trousers of the Hungarian national costume. This type of decoration was called Vitéz Kötés in the Austro-Hungarian Army .
