South African National Space Agency

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA), SOE , is the state-owned South African space agency . It was created on December 9, 2010 on the basis of the South African National Space Agency Act ( Act No. 36/2008 ) issued in 2008 and has since brought together the civil institutions that have existed in this sector.

The goals of the organization, based in Pretoria, are the peaceful uses of space , the advancement of industry and science that is focused on space and the promotion of international cooperation in this regard. The facility reports to the Department of Science and Technology. It is divided into four main areas: Earth observation , ground-based space activities, space exploration and space technology .
