Mavora Lakes
The Mavora Lakes are two lakes on New Zealand's South Island , North Mavora and South Mavora. The lakes are located in the northwest of the Southland region and drain over the Mararoa River into the Waiau River .
There are simple campsites there. The park is maintained by the Department of Conservation and served as a filming location for Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings .
