history
The project started in 2003 with a budget in the amount of 500 million US dollars . The hotel and casino opened on December 22, 2005. The hotel has 662 rooms on an area of approximately 10,000 m² . The casino itself has an area of around 7,400 m².
In mid-July 2006, Michael Gaughan announced that he would sell all of his Boyd shares to Boyd Gaming if he were to become the sole owner of the hotel in return. The sale was announced on October 19, 2006. The hotel, previously called the South Coast , was then renamed South Point .
The South Point is best known for the numerous transfers of poker formats, among which are Poker After Dark and the third and fourth season of High Stakes Poker .
Attractions
The attractions at South Point include seven restaurants, a large cinema with 16 rooms, several sports betting providers and a bowling alley that consists of 64 lanes.
