Souvenir polka

The souvenir polka is a polka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 162). The work was first performed on January 23, 1855 in Schwenders Casino in Vienna .

Remarks

The polka was composed and performed for a charity event during Mardi Gras in 1855. This event was organized by the entrepreneur Franz Ignaz Singer, who wanted to support the poor in the city of Vienna.
