Sowwah Square is the name of a new district in Abu Dhabi , the capital of the United Arab Emirates .

The district is located in the center of the island of Sowwah northeast of the current city center of Abu Dhabi. Construction began in 2007 and the first buildings opened in 2012.

According to the plans of the developers and the ruling family, Sowwah Square is to become the new business center of Abu Dhabi and will contain the new Abu Dhabi stock exchange building as well as four office towers and a hotel tower:
