The social security , founded in 1948, is the trade journal of the Austrian social insurance. It is published by the umbrella association of social insurance institutions as part of its statutory duties and is often referred to as “SozSi” or “SoSi” in specialist publications. It is aimed at decision-makers in social security, trade unionists, politicians, lawyers and academics.

In terms of content, "Social Security" deals with relevant topics in health, accident and pension insurance, taking into account the international development of social law, as well as the legal and socio-political discussion in the field of legislation, health policy, the legal and financial aspects of pension development and the technological standards in the information and controlling sector.

“Social Security” appears eleven times a year, including a double issue in summer. Four of the eleven issues contain the supplements “SV Europa News” and “Health System Watch”. These provide information on current developments and events at European level and report on new scientific findings relating to health care.
