Social association B37

The social association B37 has offered homeless people in Linz accommodation and care since 1988 .

The association describes itself as a “client-oriented service company in the social sector”.

In 1988, the Salvation Army Linz left, the city bought the building and Linz, the club took over the social-psychological work with homeless adults at its facility in the B ethlehemstraße 37 . Today the work of the association is characterized by multidisciplinary , client-centered social work in cooperation with other institutions (e.g. the Wagner-Jauregg State Neurological Clinic ).

The board of the social association B37 is made up of representatives from city politics and administration as well as experts from the social sector. The association takes on operational tasks of the city's social administration in nine different institutions. The financing is mainly provided by the state of Upper Austria.

In 2016, over 130,000 overnight stays were recorded in the entire club.

The social association B37 operates the following facilities:

  • PSWB - Psychosocial Dormitory. Psychosocially assisted dormitory at Bethlehemstrasse 37.
  • ALOA - active life without alcohol. Dormitory for women and men who have completed or are seeking withdrawal treatment.
  • SCHU - temporary dormitory. Dormitory for adults who are mostly homeless due to eviction . The home in the Schu man road should be a "stepping stone to their own homes."
  • NOWA - emergency sleeping facility with 59 beds for the care of acutely homeless people.
  • FRUIT - Outreachwork. Social work for homeless people in the Linz city area.
  • MOWO - Mobile Wohnbetreuung offers aftercare for independent living in your own living space.
  • TAGO - daily structure. Workshop facility in Fichtenstrasse, organizes daily routines for homeless adults.
  • PSD - the psychological service looks after clients of the association through crisis intervention , diagnostics and therapy.
  • ABS - Linz alcohol advice center with moderated self-help group and advice for relatives.
