The journal Soziologie is the newsletter of the German Society for Sociology (DGS) and has been published quarterly by Campus Verlag since 1971 . Since April 2017, Sina Farzin has been the editor on behalf of the board and council of the DGS. From 2003 to 2017 Georg Vobruba was the editor of the magazine.
The magazine serves to exchange information about the work in the sections and working groups within the DGS, promotes the discussion about the development of the subject and provides information about the integration of German sociology in its European and worldwide context.
Contributions in sociology are recorded via EBSCOhost Information Services as well as in the CSA Sociological Abstracts and the social science literature information system SOLIS , both accessible via Gesis - Sowiport .
