SpainSAT is a Spanish communications satellite for military applications. It complements the tasks of the XTAR-EUR satellite and is marketed in a similar way. The joint venture XTAR LLC consisting of Loral Space & Communications (USA) and Hisdesat (Spain) commissioned the satellite, operates the satellite and offers the transmission capacities to the governments and defense ministries in Spain, the USA and friendly NATO countries. Like XTAR-EUR, SpainSAT was also built by Space Systems / Loral (SSL).

Both satellites together cost around EUR 415 million including launch.
