Hisdesat

Hisdesat ( Hisdesat Servicios Estratégicos, SA ), founded on July 17, 2001, is a Spanish satellite operator that provides communications satellites for civil and military applications, mainly in the X and Ka radio frequency bands.

Hisdesat currently operates two satellites:

XTAR-EUR . Start: 2005; Position: 29 ° East. Frequencies: X-band
SpainSAT . Start: 2006; Position: 30 ° West. Frequencies: X-band , Ka-band .

Projects

On November 6, 2008, the Spanish Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the manufacture of two reconnaissance satellites equipped with optical cameras and radar , which will be named Paz and Ingenio . Paz was produced by EADS-CASA and launched on February 22, 2018. Ingenio is manufactured by EADS Astrium, the launch is expected in 2020 (as of early 2020) Template: future / in 5 years.
