Spanckenhof

The Spanckenhof is in the Bad Wünnenberg Lower Town. Today there is a Heimatstube in the building and since 1997 the seat of the GfN (Association for Nature Conservation).

history

Rentmeister Jobst Friedrich had the Spanckenhof built in the classic Baroque style in the 18th century as one of the first buildings in the lower town. The building showed the wealth of the builder. During the Prussian expansion, the Spancken family came to Bad Wünnenberg and bought the farm. The Spanckenhof was restored in the 20th century.

The building was badly damaged in a roof fire on the morning of January 4, 2013.
