Spanish turrets

The Spanish Towers in Luxembourg were built in the mid- 17th century as part of the great fortification begun by the Spaniards and continued under Vauban . The actual purpose of the turrets has not yet been fully clarified. There are said to have been up to 38 such turrets, but so far there is no historical evidence for this assumption.
