Clamping trigger

The cocking trigger describes the trigger mechanism of a weapon (e.g. revolver , pistol ) in which the cock first cocks and then releases (and thus ignites the cartridge ) when the trigger is operated . With revolvers, the drum is also rotated one chamber .

A gun with a cocked trigger is also called a double-action gun.
