The Sparkasse Neuhofen Bank AG with its headquarters in Neuhofen an der Krems is an Upper Austrian banking company with a head office and seven branches. Sparkasse Neuhofen Bank AG is a member of the Cooperation and Liability Association of Austrian Savings Banks and the Austrian Savings Bank Association.
Founding history
The initiative to found a savings bank came from the then mayor Georg Mayr, who wanted to prevent the surpluses of the economically emerging market from being deposited in financial institutions in other places. At the beginning of January 1900, the head of the state judge, Eduard Sutter, applied to the local council to set up a savings bank. This and the assumption of liability by the municipality was also unanimously accepted. In mid-February, the first draft of the k. u k. Lieutenancy presented in Linz. However, this had concerns about possible competition with the Sparkasse Kremsmünster. Therefore the statutes had to be changed. In mid-June 1900 the k. u k. Lieutenancy the statutes of the savings bank. The Sparkasse was able to hold its first official day in mid-July.
Private foundation
The Sparkasse Neuhofen private foundation was founded in 2001. It arose from the conversion of what was then the share administration savings bank. The purpose of the private foundation is the regional promotion of economic, scientific, social and cultural activities and developments for the common good.
