The Sparkasse Pöllau AG is a savings bank based in the main square in Pöllau in Styria .
history
It was founded in 1872 as a community savings bank by the doctor and pharmacist Josef Stepwieser. In 2003, the market town of Pöllau recognized the role of the Sparkasse as an important regional sponsor and source of inspiration and enabled the company to become a private foundation. The community savings bank was finally converted into a stock corporation with a non-profit savings bank foundation. The sole owner of Sparkasse Pöllau AG is therefore the non-profit private foundation Sparkasse Pöllau. This modern legal form ensures that the founding concept can also be lived in the future and that independence is ensured.
With total assets of around 155 million euros, Sparkasse Pöllau AG is not only the largest, but also the only independent bank in the catchment area. Sparkasse Pöllau AG is a member of the Cooperation and Liability Association of Austrian Savings Banks and the Austrian Savings Bank Association .

Sparkasse Pöllau private foundation
The purpose of the private foundation is to support and accompany the development of people's talents and skills - especially in the economic environment of Sparkasse Pöllau. The following topics are primarily funded:

- Environment,
- Youth and education as well
- Home care
Since the foundation of the private foundation, more than 100 social and charitable projects have been supported, in addition to sponsoring and donation activities by Sparkasse Pöllau AG. This support is possible due to the dividend income from the banking business, of which a significant percentage is donated to the foundation.
The Privatstiftung Sparkasse Pöllau is managed by the foundation board member Mr. Johannes Kielnhofer and his deputy Mr. Robert Buchberger. They manage or represent the private foundation and ensure that the foundation's purpose is fulfilled.
