The Sparkasse der Stadt Amstetten AG is a Lower Austrian banking company based in Amstetten and part of the savings bank group in Austria . It was created in 1874 as a community savings bank. The Sparkasse is a member of the cooperation and liability association of the Austrian savings banks and the Austrian savings bank association .

history

At the beginning of August 1871 the local council decided to build a savings bank. For this purpose a preparatory committee, which included the mayor and some local councils, was set up. At the beginning of May 1872 the elaborated statutes were approved by the municipal council and at the same time liability was assumed by restricting transferability of a basic relief obligation to 13,500  fl CM. At the end of December 1873 and beginning of April 1874, both the establishment and the statutes were given the official sanctuary, and at the beginning of May the rules of procedure. The Sparkasse opened its doors at the beginning of July 1874. On the first day of the office, 10 customers deposited 1,383 guilders.

Structural development of the main institute

The Sparkasse opened in the community chancellery in the town hall. In 1875, the company moved into the first floor. But on June 17, 1877, a large part of the town hall and with it the premises of the Sparkasse were badly affected by a major fire. Due to the decision to rebuild the town hall, the Sparkasse had to move to an alternative location until the opening in early October 1898. Less than three weeks after the end of the Second World War , the Sparkasse was able to unlock again, but only a few days later the Russian headquarters moved into the town hall. The Sparkasse had to relocate makeshiftly to Hauptplatz 1a, and it wasn't until New Year's Eve 1947 that it could return to the town hall. In mid-December 1954, the foundation stone was laid for a separate savings bank building, and at the end of February 1957 the new Sparkasse building at Hauptplatz 31 was opened. In 1968 the first renovation of the savings bank took place. The cash desk was enlarged from 86 m² to 140 m², and a second cash register was installed. A pneumatic tube system was installed, a day and night safe was created, and a safe room was built in the basement. A lift connected the floors of the house. A customer-friendly innovation was a letter locker system in the passage. 1975/76 second extension of the Sparkasse. The two-storey extension was hexagonal and an underground car park was built underneath. An instant checkout system was installed on the ground floor of the hexagon. The third extension took place in 1993/94. The Sparkasse also acquired 2 floors of the adjoining town house from the municipality. The fourth renovation took place in 2003. The facade, the roof, the 4th floor with the conference room and the customer center were renewed. In 2004 the hexagon was renovated.
