Sparks Network

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sparks Network is an international alliance of 19 leading independent television production companies from all major television markets, founded in 2004. The company is based in Stockholm . Membership is limited to a single company per market. Membership is exclusive, which means that it excludes membership in other international networks.
The company enables its members a low-threshold exchange of existing TV formats through licensing, achieves lower licensing costs for its members compared to third parties and promotes the exchange of production know-how. The aim is to optimize the costs of buying and optioning TV formats and to make the national contacts of the members available to everyone else.

The format catalog published by Sparks Network contains the production formats of all member companies. This enables them to present a broad product portfolio to national TV broadcasters and, if the order is placed, to build a cost and experience advantage over competitors based on the practical experience of the partners (quotas, text books, production Bibles, etc.).

The total of the pilot productions developed annually by the network members was around 50 in 2010.
