Sparta (two-wheeler factory)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sparta was a Dutch two-wheeler manufacturer. The factory in Apeldoorn produced mopeds, motorcycles, but mainly bicycles . Production and trademark rights are now owned by the Dutch Accell Group , one of the two large Dutch bicycle groups.

It was founded in 1917. In 1982 the production of mopeds and motorcycles was stopped. In 1985 Sachs began to build a bicycle with a two-stroke auxiliary motor, which was later replaced by an electric motor.
