The Speil Point ( English , Polish Przylądek Speila ) is a headland on the south coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies on the west side of the Keller Peninsula and protrudes west of Flagstaff Hill into the Mackellar Inlet .
Polish scientists named it in 1980. It is named after the Polish geophysicist Jerzy Speil, who was the radio contact for geological field research teams at the Arctowski station from 1978 to 1979 .
