Spectrum is a British House - Act from London , consisting of Gabriel Olegavich (synthesizers, programming and vocals), Lola Olafisoye (vocals), Isaac Tucker (drums) and Teia Williams (bass).

Band history

The band Spektrum was founded in 1999 when Gabriel and Lola decided to write and produce music together. In 2001 they met bassist Teia Williams through a mutual friend and recruited him and drummer Isaac Tucker (the two had worked together in their native New Zealand in the past).

In August 2001 the band released their first single "Breaker" on their own label, which was first played on the radio by Gilles Peterson . The follow-up single "Freakbox" was released in March 2002 and aroused the interest of Richie Hawtin , who, like Ricardo Villalobos and Alter Ego, produced a remix.

The band had the greatest success in 2004 with the single "Kinda New". The single reached number 70 in the British singles charts . After the original release appeared with a remix by Tiefschwarz , further remixes by Dirty South were produced in 2005 and 2007 . The latter reached number one on the UK Dance Charts .

In 2004 her debut album Enter the Spectrum was finally released . Another album entitled Fun at the Gymkhana Club was released in 2006.
