A chopping needle is a kitchen tool used to chop lean meat.

A chopping needle can be up to 20 cm long, a few millimeters thick and has a hinged device at one end. The part that can be opened is usually toothed on at least one side so that the food (usually raw, white bacon ) can be clamped in place.

Older models have a handle made of wood or plastic at one end and an eyelet at the pointed end, similar to a darning needle , through which the material is pulled.
