The soundtrack to the film Spider-Man: Homecoming , an American science fiction action film directed by Jon Watts and produced by Marvel Studios , was composed by Michael Giacchino and released on July 7, 2017.

The music for the film Spider-Man: Homecoming was composed by Michael Giacchino . On May 19, 2017, Giacchino posted a short excerpt from the recordings with his orchestra via Twitter. The soundtrack album also includes a revised version of the original Spider-Man theme, as well as the theme music from the 1960s cartoon series.

The soundtrack to the film comprises 22 pieces of music and was released on CD by Sony Masterworks on July 7, 2017. The piece Spider-Man: Homecoming Suite was presented in advance in June 2017 .

Mihnea Manduteanu explains that the soundtrack opens with the theme song from the 1960s Spider-Man series, which is a nice introduction to the story (of the film).

Allie Gemmill of Bustle.com says the soundtrack is very different from other soundtracks for films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe . Michael Giacchino decided to lighten up the original, classic Spider-Man title song and keep that bright energy throughout the score.

James Southall says Giacchino apparently fearlessly followed in the footsteps of Danny Elfman , James Horner , Christopher Young and Hans Zimmer , and sees him at the top of his field right now, and it is good to see him there too.

On December 18, 2017, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Giacchino's work was on a shortlist from which the nominations for the category Best Film Music will be made at the 2018 Academy Awards .

Chart successes

On July 14, 2017, the soundtrack entered the Soundtrack Albums Chart Top 50 at number 13. On July 21, 2017, it also rose to number 14 in the US soundtrack album charts
