Mirror knowledge
Spiegel Wissen was an advertising-financed Internet knowledge portal that had made lexicon, encyclopedia and certain magazine articles available free of charge since spring 2008. The offer included all digitally edited articles in the magazine Der Spiegel (with the exception of the last two issues), Spiegel Online , Manager Magazin , Bertelsmann encyclopedias and dictionaries ( Wahrig ). With a live feed link, the encyclopedic articles on the German language Wikipedia were also accessible. The operator had a license to use the Wikipedia logo and used an official link to the Wikipedia database.

By January 2009, which was Spiegel Wissen GmbH & Co KG , a joint venture of SPIEGELnet GmbH and Bertelsmann subsidiary Wissen Media Group , later took over mirror Bertelsmann's interest. The managing director was Hauke Janssen, head of documentation at Spiegel-Verlag. The Spiegelnet subsidiary Quality Channel was responsible for the marketing .
Since October 2009, the Spiegel Wissen offer has been gradually integrated into Spiegel Online and Manager Magazin online with a new concept .
