location

Spinas is located in the Val Bever on the Beverin directly at the south portal of the Albula tunnel , around four kilometers west of Bever at an altitude of 1815 m. ü. M.

Place and Tourism

Spinas itself only consists of a few individual houses. In addition to four residential buildings and the train station, there is an inn with overnight accommodation, a playground and a large outdoor terrace located directly between the train station and the little alpine road. In addition, the Alp Spinas is right on the spot. The current appearance of Spinas goes back to the time of the construction of the Albula Tunnel, when a temporary settlement was needed in the course of the construction work.

Today Spinas lives from gentle tourism: hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.

Spinas train station

The hamlet has a request stop on the Albula railway line, which is served about every two hours. There is also a small alpine road from Bever to Spinas and from there further into Val Bever to Alp Val. The road can only be used in summer and only with a special permit, with a blocking time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A carriage (covered wagon) is used as public transport with regular connections during the day from Bever train station to Gasthof Spinas. In winter Spinas can be reached on cross-country skis.
