The Spitalsberg ( 498  m above sea level ), also Spitalberg, is a wooded mountain ridge in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . It has been the Spitalberg conservation area since 1984 .

The Spitalsberg is mainly covered by spruce forest, on the edges of the forest there is a mixed forest of spruce and pine, the edges are formed by stands of oak and hornbeam.

The Spitalsberg is located in the urban expansion area of Feschnig and Annabichl , it is surrounded by buildings on all sides. Only in the west is there an undeveloped area in the form of the Schloss Ehrenhausen park as a neighbor.

The forest area is criss-crossed by many paths and serves as a recreational area for the settlement areas in the south and east.

Landscape protection area

The Spitalsberg was declared a landscape protection area in 1984, as was the Ehrentaler Berg north of it . Its main meaning is as a recreational area.
